Cooking Classes for Parents

I often see parents or a group of mom friends join my live cooking classes with the intention of learning a new skill together while also understanding how to make nutritious meals efficiently for their family. Meal prepping can be overwhelming and I find that many parents struggle with finding the time to make healthy meals for their families.

To combat this, I often recommend preparing one meal that can be repurposed over a couple of days. For example, a pot roast dinner that can be repurposed into a beautiful omelet or frittata with leftover vegetables. Repurposing large meals with small portions not only reduces waste but also makes mealtime less stressful for the entire family.

By utilizing all your food from root to stem, you can create a quick, healthy meal for your family in under 30 minutes. This way, everyone can gather around the table after a fun and busy day to enjoy a hearty, nutritious meal together.

Step Into My Kitchen

My teaching kitchen is located in the historic Zilker Park district, less than a mile from Lady Bird Lake and Barton Springs, two miles from downtown and Zilker Park where all of our large music festivals are held. The area itself is very historical and central to Austin. In addition to that, you get to learn how to cook local cuisine. I offer various menus such as sushi making, pasta making, and even a menu that’s all about Austin tacos.

It all starts with the expectations they come to class with and having an open mind. We’ll cover knife skills, understanding how to slice, dice, julienne, matchstick cuts, and more. You’ll also learn how to pick good produce in a market, flavor profiling, and food prep. With a focus on local ingredients and techniques, my classes offer a unique and unforgettable experience.
