Bratz with Apple Slaw

October is the ideal season to fire up the grill for some juicy bratwurst and prepare a zesty coleslaw with crisp green apples. The combination of apples and yogurt adds a refreshing twist to the classic dish. Simple and quick to make, it’s perfect for a family barbecue or a football game gathering with friends. Grab your favorite bratwurst and whip up this apple-infused coleslaw to celebrate the flavors of fall!

Bratz with Apple Coleslaw

Dressing Ingredients:

1/2 cup plain Greek Yogurt* (I recommend using Fage, other brands may will be too thin)
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons honey, Plus, more to taste
One Tbsp apple cider vinegar
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
 

Apple Slaw
1 small cabbage, shredded (6 - 7 cups packed, 16 oz chopped)
2 large greenapples, sliced into matchsticks (about 3 cups)
1/4 cup sliced green onions
1/4 cup toasted walnuts
3/4 cup dried cranberries

Instructions:
Prepare brats according to package instructions.

In a mixing bowl whisk together Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, honey and apple cider vinegar until smooth, while seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
In a large bowl toss together cabbage, apples, green onions, walnuts and cranberries.
Pour dressing over cabbage mixture and toss to evenly coat. Serve within a few hours of preparing for best results.

Serve with warm Bratz.
